Two Norman Whittier Middle School and two Indianola High School students won a statewide contest in the Oklahoma Stock Market Game, (trademark) with for $100 per student to fund a Schwab account. The “game” was sponsored by Greg Womack, president of Edmond's Womack Investment Advisers, Inc., in Edmond.
The game is coordinated through Oklahoma Council on Economic Education, affiliated with the UCO Center for Economic Education. It motivates student learning about economics, finance, and the American economic system. Participants develop and enhance skills in math, economics, personal finance, language arts, social studies, business education, technology, life skills, and critical thinking, while building and maintaining a stock portfolio.
